Donovan Bixley

Today we had the pleasure of having Donovan Bixley come and talk to us about being an illustrator. He has been drawing all this life and never really thought too much about it. His favourite picture of all time is The Lorax because of the pictures and the crazy fun words but mostly because it has a message about the environment. By the end of this year he will have done 100 books!!!!

Te Reo in Book Week

Today Miss Ide wore traditional Maori clothing for us during Book Week. Aubrey and Harvey were lucky enough to be models for the Korowai so we could see how men and woman would wear this differently. 

Strike Percussion

Today we had Strike Percussion come into school to perform for us. It was LOUD!!!! But also very cool. They showed is different types of drums and tuned percussion. We got join and copy the beats and create a 'rain storm' just using our hands. It was awesome and the guys were really funny. 

Even Miss Blair and Mr Moore joined in! 

Hockey Fun

All Year 3 classes have worked with Mr White today on their hockey skills.

Today we have been working with Miss on learning the Maori words for parts of our body. 

The South Pacific Tree Octopus

We have been learning about researching using the Internet.  Today we are learning about the Tree Octopus and finding out what makes it special from other Octopods, where it lives, what it eats and how we can help.
